Track timing

Lines up the track with your playing, taking every delay into account: what you hear, your instrument's input, and the app's capture.

  1. Use the headphones or speakers you'll record with.
  2. Press Start. You'll hear 4 count-in clicks, then 12 more.
  3. On each of the 12, play a short muted strum or tap (on drums, a rim click; when singing, a sharp "t").

Picture timing

Lines up the picture with the sound. Your camera shows the picture a little late; this measures by how much. Sit facing the screen: it goes dark and flashes white 8 times, slowly, while your camera films your face. About 10 seconds. Skip this if flashing light affects you.
